 Unless you've been hiding under a rock or watching way too much
 "Survivor", you've already heard about our great summer gathering
 coming up this sunny Saturday---but here are the updated details:


            WHAT?  TRIBESTOCK MUSIC FESTIVAL (featuring Gonzo's Nose,
                   The Velveteens, Consider The Source, buttersong,
                   MAN MOUNTAiN jr, and The Buddy System; see the

                   audio samples, band biographies, and performance
                   schedule).

            WHEN?  Saturday, August 26th, 2000, from noon until dark,
                   Rain or shine.

            WHERE? Jones Point Park
                   100 Jones Point Drive
                   Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

            COST?  Prices until 12:00pm 8/25:
                   $15 per adult (children under 12 admitted free)

                   $25 for 2 adults
                   $45 for 4 adults

                   Prices from 12:00-9:00pm 8/25:
                   $16 per adult (children under 12 admitted free)

                   $30 for 2 adults
                   $55 for 4 adults

                   Prices at the gate:
                   $17 per adult (children under 12 admitted free).
                   No group discounts at gate.
                   Cash or checks accepted at gate (no credit cards).


                    
 Performances donated by the musicians, and proceeds will benefit
 music education at the College of William and Mary.

 Courtesy of the Alexandria Red Cross, a First Aid station will be
 onsite all day for any medical emergencies that might arise.

 From ska to punk rock, from pop to soul, from hip hop to classic
 rock, from rap to reggae, this event features diverse music from
 some of the area's most popular club bands. 

 Food available at the event includes: Cajun fried fish, Polish
 sausage, cheese steaks, buffalo wings, Maryland style crab cakes,
 grilled hot dogs, golden fried shrimp, battered fried veggies,
 "Better Than Boardwalk" fries, sweet potato fries, nachos and
 cheese, cheese fries, Italian Ice, pink lemonade, iced tea, bottled
 water, sodas, funnel cakes, and more!

 Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own food to the event,
 and you may also bring non-alcoholic beverages (due to Virginia ABC
 regulations, beer must be served by the event organizers).

 Six Rock Creek Brewing Company microbrew beers, including the 1997
 World Champion, Rock Creek Red Ale, plus Rock Creek Gold, Patowmack
 Pale Ale, Potomac River Hefe Weisen, and Mooney's Irish Stout, will
 be available for just $2 each (valid Proof of Age required).
 
 So bring a blanket, bring a frisbee, bring some sunscreen, bring a
 dog or a puppy---or just bring yourself and a positive attitude---but
 don't miss Tribestock!

 SCP + SOCIETY TIES + ROCK BOTTOM BALLSTON ANNIVERSARY (8/30)

 To celebrate the one-year anniversary of their grand opening, Rock
 Bottom is having a big party on Wednesday, August 30th, and they
 have asked us to help them spread the word and have selected Society
 Ties as the beneficiary of event proceeds. They will have great beer
 specials and live music.

 begin your slide to the Labor Day weekend with us at Rock Bottom
 Ballston!
