Start Spring at the Sand Bar!

What happens when you combine the drawing power of two groups and put them at a popular Arlington location on a Thursday night? Find out this Thursday, March 21st—the first Click here for iCal fileday of Spring—as the SCP and Hands on DC join forces at the "Sand Bar" at Whitlow's on Wilson for a fundraiser to benefit local public school students. The event runs from 6:00-9:00pm, and live music by Blame It On Jane follows afterward in the main bar.

As seen in The Monthly Buzz, for just $5 you get beverage specials, chips and salsa, and a chance to win a cool door prize! Proceeds support Hands On DC's 7th annual public school work-a-thon on Saturday, April 13th.

Originally located at 11th and E Streets NW, Whitlow's reopened at its current site in 1995. Now a fixture of the burgeoning Arlington pub scene, Whitlow's is located at 2854 Wilson Boulevard, near the Clarendon Metrorail Station (Orange Line). Click here for directions or call (703) 276-9693.

14 tents. 37 schools. 1 party. 1 ticket?

This is one party you don't want to miss: 14 tents hosted by alumni from over 37 schools. Full buffet and open bar throughout, with over 40 dedicated service personnel. All this surrounded by a huge fence, with no barriers between tents, and with common rail and terrace areas.

In 2001, the Capital Alumni Network's University Row emerged as the dominant social locale along the Virginia Gold Cup's popular North Rail and was the biggest single gathering within the main event in its 76-year history. This year it has doubled again, writing history again: It will be the only place to be in 2002!

The main even takes place on Saturday, May 4th, and a "bazillion-way" kickoff event will take place on April 4th.

We expect sales to start (and finish) shortly. If you wish to be sure to be notified as soon as tickets go on sales, visit the main page at and take the Guest Survey.
